About Us
Modra Technology has been providing systems and machinery to the carpet industry since 1991.
We developed sensor systems for axminster looms which detect errors and increase operator efficiency.
Our earlier products gave Modra the opportunity to understand and respond to the requirements of customers in the carpet industry throughout the world. We identified the need for product development machinery for carpet designers and manufacturers.
Modra sought to provide alternatives to product development using hand trials or production machines. Hand trials are too slow, and sampling on production machines is expensive and disruptive. We responded to the industry’s requests and over the past 20 years Modra has risen to be a global supplier of such machinery - fulfilling the product development requirements of carpet designers with flexibility and value.
Modra has sold hundreds of carpet sample machines in over 30 countries, notably the Kibby for axminster products and the Mtuft for tufted products. We have given carpet designers a "Carpet Factory in a Box" enabling fast and cost effective product development.
Modra Technology moved into a new purpose built premises in 2007.
The move came as a result of rapid growth and demand for our products. With continued strong growth predicted and a new range of products on the horizon, our new premises are state of the art and include:

Located in Warragul, about 1 hour east of Melbourne in Victoria, Australia, Modra Technology takes pride in providing quality products and excellent service. Our machines are designed and made here in our factory.
Components are manufactured and machines are assembled in house ensuring our strict QC guidelines are met.
